(Binghamton, NY) Twenty-three Broome County individuals accused of various charges of welfare fraud are scheduled to appear in Binghamton City Court beginning today. In total, $51,135 of benefits involving the public assistance, food stamps, Medicaid and daycare programs were received by individuals who failed to report employment income or submitted false information.

Broome Files Papers with PSC to Intervene on Consumers’ Behalf
(Binghamton, NY) On September 18, 2009 NYSEG asked the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) for approval to increase the rates the company charges to deliver electricity and natural gas to customers. The proceeding is still pending before PSC. On January 25, 2009 Broome County filed a Motion to Intervene in this proceeding.
